How and when will EuroPython 2021 be run ?
EuroPython 2021 will be run as an online event, similar to what we had for EuroPython 2020. The main difference will be that we'll try to come closer to the in-person event, meaning that we'll again have a full week of content,
from July 26 - August 1:
- two workshop/training days (July 26 - 27)
- three conference days (July 28 - 30)
- two sprint days (July 31 - August 1)
We will schedule the sessions in a way which makes them accessible for Asian and Americas time zones in addition to European time zones.
Which technology will you use ?
In 2020, we used a combination of Zoom Webinars for audio/video and a Discord Server for chat and sprints. We are reevaluating the technology for 2021 and will try to enhance the navigation to give you a better user experience.
What are EuroPython Nodes ?
Provided that COVID-19 allows us, we are aiming to work together with local user groups and companies to set up in-person conference meeting points for the online EuroPython edition all around the world, the so called EuroPython Nodes, where small groups – subject to the local COVID-19 restrictions – can meet to attend the conference together.
The EuroPython Nodes will be connected using live webcam streaming and a chat server for interaction. We're also planning to have competitions and team presentations.
The details are still being worked out to make this a great experience and we would like to gather ideas from user groups and companies on how we could set this up.

When will tickets be available and what will they cost ?
We'll try to have tickets available in late April 2021.
Costs will be similar to what we had for EP2020, but we will reintroduce finaid to make it possible for more participants to join in the fun and make finaid more easily accessible.
The finaid program will start together with the ticket sales.
When will you start the call for papers (CFP) ?
Most likely early April 2021. You can have a look at the EP2020 CFP to get an idea of what we're looking for and how the process works.
We will call for submissions for
- workshops
- training sessions
- talks
In order to enable speakers from all parts of the world to give talks, we will set aside slots in the schedule which are more suitable for speakers from Asian and Americas time zones as well.
What sponsor options do you have available?
We are working on updated sponsor options for EuroPython 2021, which will provide more interaction with the audience and also embed the sponsor presentations more directly into the conference program.
